I messed up and I know it!

Okay, okay.  I know.  I missed posting two days last week and two days I did post, I didn’t post according to my own self-imposed schedule.  I have no excuse.  I know I messed up. But, honestly, this retirement thing is really hard.  I am so tired all the time and have been going daily to see this doctor or that doctor that I just give up.  I know that is no excuse.  I really understand that I have none.

I think I got bummed out when I couldn’t get the 3D star wreath done in time and then when I tried to make the lotion bars, they were a FAILURE.  That really got me down.  I was so pumped to be doing these things and getting back into crafts and art and such.  I just forgot that I am not Wonder Woman and need to sleep (a lot it seems).

Here is the status of the wreath.  It is really coming along and will be really beautiful once I am done.  I have all the stars painted and now am about to start gluing them to the base.  I did go back to Michael’s and I bought some really pretty ribbon to hang it and to make a bow for it.  That’s all that is left.  When I get that done, I will take a picture and post it here.  It really is pretty and was very easy.  The directions were spot-on.  I would be done if I had not decided to change things up a bit.

Then, there is the massive failure of the lotion bars!  I followed the instructions to the letter, but my bars stayed greasy and soft.  I have gone back and re-read the instructions.  I think that the problem originates in that the instructions do not give you measurements for each ingredient.  I think she says she “just eyeballed the ingredients” to be sure they were even.  Obviously, my eyeballing and hers don’t match.  So I will try again to make these bars but I have to get measurements for the ingredients.  Once I do that and go buy me a silicone mold, I will post pictures of the whole process and the outcome.  I was so bummed that I tossed the results directly into the trash!

So that is what has been happening here at my house.  What’s going on at yours?  Are you having successes with your projects?  Are you getting any artwork done?  I’d love to hear from you.

PS.  On another note, I am still using the Bullet Journal but I don’t think I am doing it the way it was explained.  It seems that every person’s bullet journal morphs into what that person needs it to be.  Mine is a place to keep short notes, my to-do lists, and my personal info that I need regularly.  I hope to include more of the original Bullet Journal ideas, but for now this is all I can manage.  I do like it, though.  I feel much more organized and much calmer about facing my day.  Hope you try it, too, and let me know how that is working for you.
